Parent and Volunteer Reminders

SCOREKEEPERS

  • The score booth is a QUIET ZONE.

  • NO talking to players or cheering. We get it’s exciting when your kiddo is up, but please cheer on the inside. Cheering or talking to players may result in being removed from the game.

  • You may ONLY communicate with the coaches for pitching/catching changes or with the umpire for 1) anything concerning player safety (i.e. pitch count) or 2) to clarify what call they made if you did not hear what it was.

  • NO questioning or trying to persuade the umpire’s calls.

GAME COORDINATORS

  • May be present at games in which a junior umpire(s) is calling.

  • Present to solely support the junior umpire and may not indicate their presence, but will be standing within the vicinity of the score booth and plate umpire.

  • Are to be treated the same as an umpire.

  • The only individual the junior umpire may converse with regarding calls or uncertainty of regulations and/or by-laws; and is there, as needed, at the request of the junior umpire.

  • Must be given privacy when speaking with the junior umpire.

  • Does not have personal interest in either team playing.

  • Will talk to any parent, coach, manager, or scorekeeper who is heckling, being disrespectful, or anything of that nature to the junior umpire.

Please remember, junior umpires are KIDS.

COACHES/MANAGERS

  • Respect your players and create/maintain a positive environment.

  • Respect the umpire(s)’s calls. Comments such as “good call/strike/ball/out” or anything that may be construed as persuading the umpire is not tolerated.

  • Communicate pitcher/catcher changes to the umpire.

  • Player safety is #1 - keep kids in the dugout, manage pitch counts, and create a positive and healthy mental and physical environment. Yelling, exuding anger, or anything of that nature is not tolerated.

  • MAX of three (3) coaches in a game.

DUGOUT SAFETY

  • NO bats in hand

  • A coach must be in the dugout at all times. If you only have two coaches, you can either forfeit having a base coach or a player can stand-in as a base coach (they must wear a helmet).

  • NO sitting in buckets outside of the dugout.

  • NO part of a player’s body can be outside of the dugout. Stay behind the fenced portion at all times.

PARENTS/FANS

  • CANNOT ask umpires about calls.

  • CANNOT heckle or disrespect the umpire’s calls.

  • Create a supportive and positive experience for the players.

  • Encourage the love of the game.

  • CHEER LOUDLY!!!!

FIELD RULES

  • NO dogs allowed at the fields.

  • NO smoking/vaping/cannabis or alcohol consumption.

  • Clean up after yourself.

  • Be respectful to players, coaches, managers, umpires, and other parents.

  • If you have an immediate concern while on the field  (i.e. concerns about the safety of a player), connect with the Game Coordinator, if there is one, or connect with a Board Member at the snack bar. If the concern does not require immediate attention (complaint or general question), you may email [email protected].
